New Year Health Goals for 2017

Welcome to the New Year, and a fresh chance to make the healthy changes to your lifestyle in order to live your best life!

There are lots of trends ready to pop in 2017, and here is our run down of the main goals you guys will be focussing on this year.

  1. ditch the diets – it might sound weird, but diets are hopeless!  Limiting calories, macronutrient groups (such as carbs) or ‘detoxing’ your body will all do more harm than good.  Much better goals would be to focus on eating clean food (non processed junk really). Good fats, quality protein and slow releasing wholegrain carbs will help you lose weight whilst feeling great!
  2. HIIT the gym – the workouts you do should be focussing on HIIT if you want to lose weight and burn fat fast – HIIT stands for high intensity interval training.  This means you do hard and fast bursts of work (such as sprints on the treadmill or bike) followed by resting periods.  An ideal time for beginners is 30 secs work followed by 45-60 sec rest, repeated for around 20-25 minutes. Aim for 4-5 times per week for an incredible fat burn!  You’ll see your fitness go through the roof too.
